The Best Time to Get Married in Dallas

As Dallas wedding planners, one of the first wedding planning steps we recommend is picking your date. This can be tricker than it sounds, particularly if you’re hoping to get married in Dallas! Here in Dallas, there are certainly pros and cons to every season, especially if you're considering an outdoor event. Your guests will melt without air-conditioning in the peak of summer, and the unexpected winters make it tricky to plan. So, when is the best time to have a wedding in Dallas, Texas?

When to Get Married in Dallas

Our vote is having your Dallas wedding anytime between mid-September and early October. Why?

It’s between hot summer and chilly winter

It's finally cooling down, but it's still warm enough to host a comfortable outdoor event with a gentle breeze. You don't have to constantly be worried about the rainy season like you would in the spring, and humidity has dropped by this point. It has the lowest chance of undesirable weather - one of the few things we wedding planners cannot control!

There are fewer tourists

Dallas is a big tourist attraction - and for good reason. We have some of the tastiest foods, a mix of cultures, and lots of incredible history and sightseeing within the city and in surrounding areas. But that's not always ideal when planning a wedding! Since there’s the possibility of booked up hotels, extra traffic, and hiked up prices, it’s important to plan around the biggest times for tourists. By October, though, most tourists have settled back into their normal lives, making your wedding planning an easier experience. This helps make it the best time to get married in Dallas.

You're not limited to a certain style

With the cooler temps that are still quite warm, you can style your wedding in many directions. Triple-digit temperatures in the summer restrict couples from using heavier (but luscious) materials, like velvet. Cool winter temperatures may stop a bride from a light & airy gown. But in the fall, either direction will be comfortable! This applies to your color palette, your choice of using indoor and outdoor spaces, and the many available textures. We love versatility!
