Fall Wedding at Canterbury Shaker Village

Courtney and I actually went to high school together. We used to talk about what we wanted to do with our lives, and I always talked about becoming an event planner. It came full circle, and last October, she hired Fete and Festoon for wedding management! I also worked with them on their save the dates, invitations, and signage. It was wonderful to be able to work with Courtney and Jesse for their fall wedding at Canterbury Shaker Village. Now, I’m sharing their wedding just in time for their anniversary!

Rustic and Whimsical Wedding Ceremony

Courtney and Jesse’s ceremony was mystical and felt enchanting! Courtney’s mom designed the wedding, both the ceremony and the reception. She did an amazing job coming up with a rustic yet elegant design for her daughter’s wedding. Not only that, but Courtney’s mom surprised Courtney with a horse and carriage to bring her to the aisle. It was the perfect touch to this whimsical wedding ceremony. They had their ceremony under the trees in perfect fall weather surrounded by extra plants and greenery. Courtney’s maid of honor got Covid right before the wedding, but they included her by printing out a giant photo of her head for photos. It was a beautiful ceremony.

Wedding Reception at Canterbury Shaker Village

I knew that Courtney and Jesse’s wedding décor was going to have that vintage, fairyland feel before I found out the design plan. After all, they selected vintage stamps for their wedding invitation suites. When the big day came, we loved putting together their reception décor design! The historical shaker chairs and the wood barn were a great starting point, and we added in a mix of moss, dried florals, and pinecones. We kept it elegant with drapery and neutral tones. When we were done, it felt like a fairy wonderland!
