Sage and Purple Destination Mountain Wedding

Milan and Jesse knew each other for years before finally getting together. They’re both from Vermont, but Milan moved back and forth a few times, exploring different parts of the country. When she made it back to Vermont in 2019, it was perfect timing for both of them! They reconnected and started dating right away. Later, they decided to move to Knoxville, Tennessee together and get married there. I was grateful to be able to serve as their planner and designer for their destination mountain wedding in Tennessee! 150 people came from all over the country to celebrate this special couple and help them start their next amazing adventure.

Sentimental Wedding Details

Milan and Jesse were all about honoring their past and the important people in their lives. First, they decided to get married not far from the iconic Great Smoky Mountains, where Jesse proposed. They also exchanged sentimental wedding gifts on the big day. Jesse gave Milan a framed map of the US to fill in pictures – a nod to their adventurous lifestyle filled with travel. Meanwhile, Milan gave Jesse a portrait of the night sky on the night they rekindled their relationship on Jesse’s family farm, the place he grew up and misses dearly.

When it came to their loved ones, Milan used charms to honor them. She had a charm pinned to the back of her dress with a photo of her grandmother, who passed away a few years before. She basically raised Milan and is the most important person in her life. Milan also honored other passed family members with a chain of charms made by one of her bridesmaids attached to her gorgeous cascading bouquet.

Mountain Wedding at The Lodge at Brother’s Cove

Their wedding location could not have been more perfect. The Lodge at Brother’s Cove has a gorgeous mountain background. Milan and Jesse got married in a gazebo with the mountains behind them, and the reception space has gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows too. It made the perfect backdrop for their iconic first dance filled with lifts and spins!

For their wedding, Milan and Jesse stuck mostly with sage and white with some pops of purple. Together, we managed to seamlessly connect classic wedding dΓ©cor, including tall centerpieces with metal stands, with some rustic details like a wooden ladder for drinks.

Milan and Jesse made sure to include their fur babies too! On top of walking down the aisle during their wedding ceremony, they had custom illustrations done of each of them and used them for their table numbers and bar sign. It wasn’t the only custom-made sign, either. The oversized scroll on their cake table was too!

The atmosphere at this mountain wedding felt purely romantic and just FUN. Something about a destination wedding brings together the people who love you the most, and it was so felt the entire day. We loved working with Milan and Jesse to help plan their destination wedding, and we’d love to help you do the same! We’re based in Dallas, but we’re available wherever you need us. Just let us know how we can help!
