Just Engaged? These are the Dallas Wedding Trends You Need to Know About

As Dallas wedding planners, we are always paying attention to the landscape of weddings in the DFW area. We love seeing couples navigate the endless options & decisions that need to be made, and finding the one option for each element that feels right. And, we get to see how these trends change as time goes on. Here are a few of our favorite ones that you need to know about if you just got engaged.

Bold, Bright & Beautiful!

Being maximalists to our core, we are loving this one. Many couples are opting for bright, bold colors and over-the-top design. With bold color stories, you can really set the tone of celebration & fun throughout your entire wedding experience. You'll see this reflected in linens, china, glassware, stationery, and with beautiful patterns throughout.

Warm Welcome

Not exactly suitable for a church wedding; but, if your guests are gathering somewhere before your ceremony begins, why not give them a warm start to the experience? This is one of our favorite trends; offering a chance for guests to enjoy a custom cocktail or glass of champagne before your ceremony, perhaps with live music in the background. A pre-cocktail-hour cocktail, if you will! Let the enthusiasm build, and give yourself a little extra time before the busyness begins.

Lace is having a day - and not in your grandmother's way.

That's right, lace is finally making a comeback. No, we don't mean the raggedy doilies or shapeless fabrics. We're talking about the intricately detailed patterns that are woven in table runners or linens; the hand-frosted wedding cakes that match, and the stationery that sets the tone. Imagine the creativity you can have here!

Choosing what feels right; not what's tradition.

This is perhaps the most impactful trend, and our favorite; couples are realizing the reasons they are getting married and hosting a celebration, and it's not because of tradition. They're doing it for them, and they want their decisions to reflect that. Instead of doing what everybody does, couples are choosing to modify (or remove altogether) the traditions that don't feel right to them. And that's what it's all about; starting your life with your favorite person, in the way that feels best to you.

We are so excited to see what new trends emerge this coming year. Do you have any elements you know you love & want to include in your own wedding? Reach out today and see how we can help make it a reality.
